Payroll Manager.

We are currently looking for a Payroll Manager to join our Lichfield office (or can be based at one of our other offices) at Dains Accountants.

You will be managing a small team and be pivotal in the delivery of key departmental projects focused on providing service excellence. You will support our ambitious growth plans, onboarding new clients as they transition to Dains and lead your team to achieve their ambitions. You will have a selected client portfolio which allows you to build and maintain great relationships on the payrolls you deliver.

You will join a supportive and expanding department of fourteen, where there are genuine career opportunities available as well as structured personal development plans, to support your ambitions and personal goals.

Your Role as Payroll Manager

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of payroll specialists

  • Provide training and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payroll runs

  • Review and approve payrolls to be released to clients

  • Conduct periodic audits of payroll procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance

  • Support the maintenance of the payroll systems and software

  • Ensure a high level of customer service, maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Attributes

  • Level 5 payroll qualification or equivalent

  • Experience in managing multiple payrolls

  • Knowledge of Paycircle software is desirable

  • Good, applied knowledge of payroll legislations and compliances

  • Experienced in leading a team and dealing with related issues

  • Excellent communication skills across all channels with both clients and across all levels within the firm
